Translation:
This duo, which has been moving together since 2007, differs the farthest from the familiar Steeplechase approach. Hence also placed under the sub-label LookOut. With ‘The Inner Senses’, pianist Carol Liebowitz and alto saxophonist Nick Lyons mainly connect to the laws of free improvisation. Only ‘Ontology’ is based on a piece by someone else (in this case the mythical pianist Connie Crothers who still worked with Max Roach and Roscoe Mitchell). Characteristic is that the two almost never leave each other’s side. They stick together all along the line. Alternating solos are (almost) not the norm here. A proof that they rely musically on a form of telepathy and thus still respect the values of the label, albeit under a very special feeling.
